Men crack me up – to be fair, myself included. We know exactly the type of girl we’re supposed to be with. We all do. We all know exactly the type of woman we ought to end up with in order to have a happy and healthy relationship.

But guess what? We’re not going to choose her. We’re going to choose that other girl – the one that will screw with our heads and break our hearts.
Men choose the bad girl instead of the good girl four out of five times. Even though we all know that choosing the good girl is the wise decision, we almost never choose her. Why? Here are 12 reasons:
1. Men conflate 'bad' with sexy.
Bad is exciting. For men, quite literally. Men have managed to even incorporate the word 'bad' into everyday language as a synonym for 'sexy.' Such as, “Damn. She's bad.”
We find bad sexy because the things we plan on doing to bad women are likewise 'bad,' or naughty. Bad is naughty and naughty is sexy. Good, on the other hand, sounds predictable.
2. Men are gamblers, risk takers.
Sure, some men avoid gambling and taking any and all risk. We call them wimps. Wimps will take any women they get because they’re simply happy a woman even started talking to them. Every other man takes risks in one part of his life or another.
Not all men want to gamble on a bad woman – we label these men mature and intelligent. The majority of us are still under the illusion a bad girl is a gamble we can cash out on.

3. Bad girls are usually better in bed.
I’m sorry good girls, but it’s true. But first, allow me to clarify. There are plenty of bad girls who come across as good girls to the untrained eye. These women will play straight arrows out in public, but once they get you behind closed doors, they unleash the beast.
When I say good girls I mean girls who are good through and through – the kind of girl your mother wishes for you. These girls aren’t as good in bed because they simply aren’t overly adventurous.
They are very giving and want to please you, but as most men get off on a woman’s pleasure, they fail because they can’t please themselves.
4. Although emotional pain sucks, men kind of like it.
Yes, we’re slight masochists. We don’t enjoy the pain itself, of course. But we do enjoy that we’re able to feel so much. Most women don’t know how great they have it being able to physically experience a deeper level of emotion than men.
Men will always try to use that against them, but they’re just jealous. Women are more alive than men are because they feel more alive – they literally feel more. Bad girls may hurt us, but they remind us we’re breathing.
5. Good girls can come off bland.
The best way to explain it would be like this: To men, bad girls are like a bucket of spicy buffalo wings – you know you’re going to regret digging into it, but it just tastes so good.
Good girls, on the other hand, are the equivalent of a quinoa salad – it’s good for you, it’s the healthier decision and it grows on you. Unfortunately, four times out of five, men will go for that wing.
6. Men like women they have a difficult time figuring out.
Personally, I love puzzles. If I can figure a girl out entirely, I get bored. Most men probably aren’t as extreme, but they do like mystery. Every guy loves a bit of mystery in his life.
Bad girls are mysterious by nature. They’re secretive and elusive. They’re hard to catch and almost impossible to keep. I know this sounds stupid, but men like that.
7. Most men aren’t looking for a woman and thinking, “I wonder if she will make a good mother.”
If this were the case then I promise you the divorce rate would be cut in half. Men don’t like to picture relationships too far down the line because a lot of us have some level of commitment issues.
If men all got wiser, then all the good girls would be scooped up in an instant. We’re talking about the mother of our kids after all.
8. Having a relationship on the verge of shattering, excites us.

Men like to be forced to stay on their toes – we need it. Women can’t let their men rest for too long because they will get comfortable and lazy.
They will eventually stop trying to impress you and that's something you can never allow to happen. When two individuals stop trying to impress each other, the relationship will surely falter.
9. Men like the uncertainty.
While women are smart enough to want a man who is clearly there to stay, men like to worry about losing their women. We don’t want to be certain we’ll have you forever.
We want to have you for ourselves for the rest of eternity, but what we want even more than that is to actually want you. Bet rebel sports.
Men want, as women themselves do, what they can’t have. If they already have you, then they’ll settle for the thrill of the risk of losing you.
This kind of stuff excites men. Bad girls are never a certain-thing and that’s why they catch the interest of so many men.
10. Men love danger – at least as a concept.
Have you ever met a man who didn’t like action movies? Who didn’t like to watch fights, races or stunts? Of course, not. Men love danger.
We don’t love it so much when we’re in a position of danger, but we like to look at it from a distance. We like the concept of danger and bad girls are a type of danger we feel comfortable enough jousting with.

11. We feel like good is easy to get – but, of course, we’re wrong.
Good seems easy to us, while bad seems more like a challenge; men love challenges. We like to see ourselves as conquerors. What we don’t realize is that we are targeting the easier prey.
Bad girls may seem like a greater challenge to keep, but that’s because they aren’t really worth keeping. They are bad – by definition, not something of much value. So if you win them over, you’re not really winning.
Good girls, the strong and smart ones anyhow, are the real challenge. To hold on to them, you constantly have to prove your value. You constantly have to put in as much as you take out. To keep a good girl, you have to be something most men can’t seem to do: be a good man.

Get ready for 'Hot Girl Summer' rapper Megan Thee Stallion to appear on Good Girls Season 3, in what's sure to be a fiery role. The rapper confirmed that she's set to join the NBC show in an Instagram post on Wednesday, Dec. 11. So far, details about who she'll be playing or if she'll appear in more than one episode are being kept quiet, but she made it clear in her announcement that she's excited to be making her TV acting debut on the series.
In her IG video, Megan said, 'NBC done let me come on and be on Good Girls. And y'all just need to tune in, and get ready for me!' Her mystery role is just one more accomplishment for the rising star to add to her ever-expanding list of triumphs. Her hit 'Hot Girl Summer' became a viral sensation and the unofficial anthem of summer 2019. And in October, she made her official acting debut in trilogy of short films called Hottieween on YouTube. In addition to guest-starring on Good Girls alongside the show's stars Retta, Christina Hendricks, and Mae Whitman in 2020, the 24-year-old is also set to release her debut album later in the year, per NPR.
Even though NBC isn't ready to share details about Megan's Good Girls role, Season 3 is already shaping up to be an intense year for soccer moms turned money launderers Ruby, Beth, and Annie. Season 2 ended with a cliffhanger after Beth shot Rio and left him for dead, and when the show returns on Feb. 16, the trio will be dealing with the fallout.
In addition to Megan, Orange Is the New Black star Jackie Cruz is also joining the show — and she's set to play the mother of Rio's child, Rhea. Beth will strike up a friendship with Cruz's character, which will not only put her in danger, it will also upset her partners in crime. Whether or not Beth actually killed Rio remains to be seen, but as long as her guilt drives her to bond with Rhea, she'll be putting everyone she loves in danger.
